Celcom Africa Ltd is seeking a talented and passionate Support Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance applications and contributing to the development of innovative digital solutions that drive business growth. You will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy modern software systems. Java Go PHP APIs Git Agile / SDLC

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications.
Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following industry best practices.
Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
Integrate and manage APIs and third-party services.
Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing software systems.
Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Support system deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong experience in software development and modern programming languages (such as Java, Go, or PHP).
Experience working with APIs, databases, and web technologies.
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Understanding of Agile development practices and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficiency in English; based in Nairobi, Kenya – full-time, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Added Advantage
Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps tools, or container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of microservices architecture or modern web frameworks.
