Tutorial Fellows – IT

Duties and responsibilities

To teach units allocated by the Head of Department.

Designing, developing, planning and delivering a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.

Delivering high-quality lectures and practical sessions.

Assess student performance through examinations, coursework, and practical evaluations.

Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.

Reviewing curriculum course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.

Collaborating with academic colleagues on course development, curriculum changes and the development of research activities.

Carrying out research and writing research grant proposals.

Seeking and participating in consultancies.

Dissemination of research findings at national or international conferences, scientific symposiums and webinars.

Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and staff.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in your detailed job description;

Qualification – Tutorial Fellows

Applicants must possess the following academic qualifications in the below areas of specialisation:

Registered or be registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification in the area of specialization from a recognized and accredited university.

Masters and Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Data Science, Pure and applied Mathematics or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.

At least three (3) years of post-qualification work experience.

Demonstrated potential for University teaching and research.

Commitment to high-quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students

Evidence of scholarly publications and participation in, or contributions to, academic conferences, seminars and workshops.

Evidence of attraction of grants.

Be registered or registrable with the relevant professional body (where applicable)
