ASSISTANT SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT LEAD

Key Responsibilities

– Develop and maintain full-stack applications, APIs, databases and system integrations.
– Support the development and improvement of ERP systems.
– Mentor junior developers, allocate tasks and monitor delivery.
– Conduct code reviews and enforce coding, testing, documentation and security standards.
– Resolve system defects, performance issues and data-integrity risks.
– Manage deployments, servers, Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
– Develop automated unit, feature and end-to-end tests.

Required Skills

– PHP and Laravel 11+
– Vue 3, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
– MySQL and PostgreSQL
– REST APIs and third-party integrations
– Linux, Ubuntu, Nginx, PHP-FPM and Supervisor
– Git, GitHub Actions and CI/CD
– Cypress, Playwright or Laravel Dusk
– Application security, database optimisation and multi-tenant architecture

Qualifications

– Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
– Experience developing or supporting ERP or enterprise systems.
– Experience mentoring or supervising junior developers.
– Strong understanding of the software-development lifecycle.
– Willingness to relocate to and work from Kakamega.
