Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and qualified Software Engineer - 2 Posts to join Kenya Space Agency in Nairobi.

Qualifications

Person Specifications (Education, Experience & Competencies)

Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Science, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Control and Instrumentation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Proficiency in computer applications.

Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementing and reviewing space-related ICT strategies, policies, and systems, ensuring alignment with space operation needs;

Managing and securing space ICT infrastructure and corporate systems to enable efficient service delivery, ensuring data integrity and system availability;

Monitoring and implementing backup, recovery, and cybersecurity measures to ensure the resilience of ICT systems;

Coordinating the deployment and administration of enterprise systems and space-related applications, ensuring they meet operational needs;

Troubleshooting space ICT systems, identifying issues, and ensuring solutions are implemented;

Researching and promoting cost-effective, innovative ICT solutions that can enhance operational efficiency and service delivery;

Collaborating with stakeholders in the development and implementation of research and innovation in Space Digital Infrastructure and Services;

Helping coordinate capacity-building initiatives and managing knowledge-sharing processes on Space ICT services across teams; and

Supporting the coordination of risk management activities related to ICT infrastructure and service delivery, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
