Architect, build and maintain the technology backbone of our research operations — from digital data collection platforms to analytics infrastructure and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

Key responsibilities

Design and deploy mobile data collection solutions (ODK, KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, CommCare)
Manage cloud infrastructure (databases, dashboards, file storage, automations)
Build and maintain internal web tools, APIs and analytics dashboards
Enforce cybersecurity, data protection and backup policies
Provide L2/L3 IT support across the organisation
Requirements

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related
4+ years experience including cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and database administration
Strong skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL
Experience with BI/visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase)
Familiarity with statistical/data analysis tools (R, Stata, SPSS) is a plus
Knowledge of GDPR / Kenya Data Protection Act
